COVER REVEAL: MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE by TAYLOR JENKINS REID

EEEPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!! I'm DYING to read this book. This author is my top top TOP favourite author after reading AFTER I DO and FOREVER, INTERRUPTED (Both 5 STARS Reads) so I just can't wait to read MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE. I LOVE JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING SHE WRITES. I NEED this book NOW.

SYNOPSIS

At the age of twenty-nine, Hannah Martin still has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She has lived in six different cities and held countless meaningless jobs since graduating college, but on the heels of a disastrous breakup, she has finally returned to her hometown of Los Angeles. To celebrate her first night back, her best friend, Gabby, takes Hannah out to a bar—where she meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan.

It’s just past midnight when Gabby asks Hannah if she’s ready to go. Ethan quickly offers to give her a ride later if she wants to stay.

Hannah hesitates.

What happens if she leaves with Gabby?

What happens if she leaves with Ethan?

In concurrent storylines, Hannah lives out the effects of each decision. Quickly, these parallel universes develop into surprisingly different stories with far-reaching consequences for Hannah and the people around her, raising questions like: Is anything meant to be? How much in our life is determined by chance? And perhaps most compellingly: Is there such a thing as a soul mate?

Hannah believes there is. And, in both worlds, she believes she’s found him.

SYNOPSIS

Dalton,

I loved you once. A love I thought irrevocable. A love I mistakenly believed could transcend both time and circumstance. Under the influence of my dimwitted, naïve, traitorous heart, I became intoxicated with what I now know was simply a figment of my self-indulgent imagination. So drunk on the feeling, I couldn’t see what was right in front of my face. So foolishly enamored, I blindly followed my heart into the depths of an emotion that would ravage me.
Years later, I know now what I wish I knew then. I am stronger. Smarter. Tougher. I will not allow myself to be broken again.
I loved you.
I raged for you.
I wept for you.
And now, I’m letting you go

Interview with Pamela Sparkman, Copper, Joe and Hayden

We have Pamela Sparkman author of Stolen Breaths, Shattered and her next upcoming book Skin Deep here with us. Pamela made a trip down here in Canada and stayed with me with Cooper, whom we all met in Stolen Breaths with Joe and Hayden who is also be joining us.

We all got to know of Cooper's story in Stolen Breaths and Joe's story in Shattered. Soon we will be getting to know more of Hayden in Skin Deep

How many of you are excited for Skin Deep's upcoming release? I know I am.

You can read and experience the fun we had here. Hope you all enjoy it.

“We are so late!”  Trisha is going to kill us.”  I say looking for a taxi.
“Relax hon.  We’ve got time.  We’re not late for another…”  Joe looks down at his watch. “Fifteen minutes.”
“Dude you see this traffic?  Hayden waves his hands in front him at all the cars, clearly frustrated.  “It’ll be an hour getting through this shit.”
Cooper whistles and the three of us snap our heads in his direction.  “I gotta cab.  Come on!”
“Shit,” I mumble under my breath.  “This is your fault Joe.”  I say, walking past him and climb inside the cab and scoot to the furthest side.  Joe climbs in behind me, followed by Hayden.  Cooper sits up front.
“How is this my fault?”  Joe asks with a smirk.
“You spent forty minutes trying to find a gift to give to Trisha.  And then you ended up picking up the first thing you saw to begin with.  What was the point of that?”  I ask trying not to sound as frustrated as I am.
Joe shrugs.  Just – shrugs.
“Ugh!”  I say in exasperation.  “Maggie is right.”  I fold my arms in front of me and glare out the window at the cars not moving.
“Right about what?”  Joe asks sounding amused.
“Never mind.” I say.  I take a minute to take a cleansing breath and then lean up so the cab driver could hear me.  “Is there a detour or something we can take?”
The driver looks up at me through the rear view mirror.  “Sorry ma’am.  I’ll try my best to get you there on time, but no detour.”
I slump back into my seat.  “Okay.  Thank you.”
Joe wraps his arm around me and pulls me into his side.  “Sorry, love, for making us late.  Forgive me?”
I look up at Joe not feeling very forgiving and was about to start in on him again when he put his finger over my lips. “I read earlier today where 4,153,237 people got married last year.”
“What on earth are you talking about?  What does that have to do with anything?”
“Well, I was just thinking,” Joe pauses, “not to cause any trouble, but don’t you think that should be an even number?”
He looks at me very serious like.  And I look at him very serious like.  He stares.  Then I stare.  A competition I think.  I will not laugh.  I.Will.Not.Laugh.
I could feel the corners of my mouth turning up.  Stupid traitorous mouth.
“Ah, now there’s that beautiful smile I love so much,” Joe says looking like he won the lottery.
I laugh.  Damn it.  I want to stay mad at him, but I can’t.  I elbow him in his side.  “Shut up.”
“Yeah Joe, shut up.”  Hayden chimes in.
“Fine.  But when we get to Trisha’s house, I’m doing all the talking.”
“None of us are surprised by that.”  Hayden says.
“Cooper?  Why are you being so quiet up there?” I ask
Cooper shakes his head.  “Nothing.  Just lost a bet.”
“Huh?” I ask.
Joe grins.  “Cooper bet me earlier that you would stay mad at me until we got to Trisha’s.  And I told him that you couldn’t stay mad at me that long.  I won.  Pay up big guy!”
I roll my eyes and whine like a small child to the cab driver. “Are we there yet?”
“Yes miss.”  The driver responds.  “Pulling up now.”
“Oh thank God.”  I say.  Cooper pays the driver and we all get out of the car.  I look up at the apartment building directly in front of us.  “Cooper you have her apartment number, right?”
“Yep.  Fourth floor.”
I take a deep breath.  “Y’all ready?”
“I was born ready.”  Joe says.
“Of course you were.”  I turn around and lead the way.
When we get off the elevator Cooper steps off first.  “This way,” he says.  We follow. The hallway splits off in three directions.  Good thing Cooper is leading the way, I think to myself.
When we reach Trisha’s apartment I brush my hair out of my face and knock on her door.  It only takes a minute before she answers.

Behind the scenes interview with Joe Carlisle, Cooper Hundson, and Hayden McCoy from the Stolen Breaths series. ~

Okay, so I’ll admit I’m slightly nervous.  I mean…I’ve kind of had a crush on Cooper since reading Stolen Breaths by Pamela Sparkman, but I never actually thought I’d meet him.  And he’s coming here.  And he’s bringing his friends Joe and Hayden with him.
I am freaking out.
When I open the door and I see Pamela and the guys behind her, I thought my knees would give out.  They are SO much hotter in person.  The guys I mean.  Not that there’s anything wrong with Pamela, but…ah hell, you know what I mean.
“Ohmygod!  I can’t believe you’re here!” I clear my throat. “Come in…come in.”  I step aside to make room for them to enter.
“Sorry we’re late.”  Pamela says while hitching her thumb towards Joe.  “He couldn’t decide which gift to buy you.”
“You bought me a present?”  I ask feeling my face heat up.
“Of course.  Here.  Hope you like it.”  Joe leans in and kisses me on the cheek while placing the small gift in my hands.
“You shouldn’t have.  Shall I open it now?” I ask closing the door behind Hayden.
“Yep.  By all means.” Joe grins.
“Okay.  Well go ahead and sit down if you like.  I made some snacks if you’re hungry.”
“I’m hungry,” Hayden says while stepping into the living room.  He reaches down and grabs a handful of peanuts, pops them in his mouth, and takes a seat on the sofa.  Cooper follows, offering Pamela the seat in the middle.  Joe takes a seat on a chair next to them, and I sit in the chair opposite Joe and begin to unwrap my gift.
“Aww, Joe, I love it!  Thank you so much.”
The gift … a t-shirt that says, “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.  Hate me ‘cause you can’t compete.”
Joe’s smile only grows bigger.  “You’re welcome.  Besides, I figure I need to get on your good side if we’re gonna do this interview.”  He shrugs. “ I wanna look good.”
I shift in my seat after setting the t-shirt aside, and pull out my notepad.  I’m lost for words as I take in the three of these guys.  The only way I know to get my brain to function is to read the questions that I pre-wrote.  “Okay, well I would like to get started if that’s okay with you guys.”  I’m seriously nervous and I think I got the hots for Joe now.  I wish you guys could see him.
Have. Mercy.
I sit up straighter and press on, hoping like hell I can be professional and not let drool slide down my face.
“No time like the present,” Joe says smiling.  “Fire away.”
“Okay Joe, let me start with you.  Your story with Maggie…Shattered.  Can you give us any hints about what we can expect for those who haven’t read it?”
Joe leans forward, rests his forearms on his knees, and threads his fingers together.  “Wow, so you’re really just gonna jump right into the deep end, huh?  Ok well, there’s a lot that happens so it’s hard to summarize, but I guess readers can expect to really get inside my head and understand what makes me tick.  I can’t speak for Maggie, but probably the same can be said for her.  And I hope that by the end our story it will leave readers with a smile on their face.”
“And what does make you tick, Joe?”
“In a word…Maggie.”
“Well we don’t want to divulge too much information so let me ask you some basic questions.  “What’s your favorite color?”
“Green. The color of Maggie’s eyes.”
“Favorite food?”
Joe grins and then he starts to laugh.  “Peaches.”
“What?  What’s so funny?”  I ask.
“Nothing.  Keep going.”
“Okay.  Well this one has to do with your sense of humor.  You like to tell jokes –”
“Yeah, lame ones,” Hayden cuts in with a smirk on his face.
“What’s the matter princess?  That rash come back?” Joe asks mirroring Hayden’s smirk.
“Guys.  You promised to be on your best behavior.”  Pamela whisper yells.
“This is their best behavior.” Cooper answers with a laugh.
I put my hand up to get everyone’s attention.  “Okay, why don’t we take a little break…let you guys get settled in and we’ll resume this interview after dinner.  Sound good?”
Everyone stands and agrees.  After they leave to get ready for dinner I plopped down on the sofa.  This might be a long interview.  But hell if I care.  I’m going to enjoy this.

During dinner I notice that Hayden keeps looking at his cell phone.  He’s texting someone and I’m curious to know who it is because he looks anxious, like he would rather be somewhere else.
“Everything okay, Hayden?”
He looks up.  “Huh?  Yeah, everything is fine.  Why?”
“Well, you seem distracted.”  I point to the phone in his hand.  “And you look like something’s wrong.”
“I’m fine.”
Joe leans in and says something in Hayden’s ear.  Hayden shakes his head and looks down.
“So, Trisha…” Cooper says, “I wanted to thank you for inviting us here.  It was really nice of you.”
I tear my eyes away from Joe and Hayden and focus my attention on Cooper.  “Oh, you’re welcome.  I’m glad you guys decided to come.  So far it’s been a lot of fun.”
“I’ll be right back,” Hayden says standing up, “I need to check on something.”
After Hayden walks away, I look around the table and ask, “Is he okay?”
“Yeah, he just has some stuff on his mind,” Joe answers.
“I’m worried about him.” I say truthfully.  “He seems – lost.  Like he’s not here.”
Nobody answers right away.  Finally, Cooper speaks up.  “We’re not real sure what’s going on with him actually.”
“Well, I hope he’s all right.”
“He will be.”  Pamela says quietly.  “You guys about ready to go?  I’m kind of tired.”
As we all stand up to leave Hayden comes back to the table.  “Guys, I need to get back home.  Something’s come up.”
“You have to leave Hayden?  Is it not something you can handle from here?” Pamela asks.
Hayden looks at her with worried eyes and lowers his voice to a whisper.  “You know I can’t.”
Pamela touches Hayden on the arm.  “You’re right.  You need to go.  I’ll come with you.”  She looks back at me.  “I’m sorry Trisha, but I’m going to go back with Hayden.  Joe and Cooper, you guys stay, and give Trisha her interview.  We’re going to catch the next flight home.”
I could tell Joe and Hayden didn’t like the idea of staying, so I spoke up.  “You know what, you all need to get back home.  Joe, I know you want to get back to Maggie, and Cooper I know you’re going out of your mind missing Lily.  We can do this another time, and maybe the girls can come with you next time.”
“You sure?” Cooper asks.
“Yeah,” Joe chimes in.  “We hate leaving like this.”
“It’s fine guys.  I understand.  You gotta get back to your ladies.  Hayden, I hope everything works out with whatever has come up.  Let me know if there’s anything I can do.”
Hayden leans and kisses my cheek. “Thank Trisha.  You’re the best.  I’m sorry about this.”
“Hey, no worries.  I get it.  Go.  Do what you need to do.”  I wave them off like it’s no big deal.  “I’ll take you to the airport.  We’ll swing by and get your bags on the way.”
“You’re an angel,” Joe says.
I smile and grab my purse.  “Come on, let’s get you guys home.”
On the way to the airport I had an idea.  “Hey guys, what do you think about me coming to Nashville sometime in the near future and doing another interview?  It’ll be easier and you guys can stay close to home.  Would that work for everyone?”
“Works for me,” they all say in unison.
“Great.  Then it’s settled.  Just let me know when a good time would be for me to come and I’ll be there.”
Back at my apartment, I take a moment to reflect on our visit together.  They are everything I thought they would be and I smile to myself.  I pick up the shirt Joe had given me and put it on.  Calling it a night, I head for bed.  This is without a doubt one of the best days of my life.  And I can’t wait to see them again.  And when I do, I’ll be sure to tell you all about it.  And I won’t leave out a single thing.

I'll be definitely heading to Nashville soon. Expect me over soon Pamela after Skin Deep releases. I miss my boys already. xoxo.

If you haven't already read the first two books in the STOLEN BREATHS series you all MUST do so now. You all are missing out.

REVIEW

Holy moly. Rainbow Rowell is the Queen of Haunting me. Each and every book of her till date have left a major imprint on my mind and heart. She has made a soft corner in my soul that pulses with life. I cannot describe the feelings I felt reading Eleanor & Park. I went alive with a spark that blossomed between them both.

Reading the dual POV between the two was a treat knowing what's in their minds its like they are one soul and two bodies. They feel the same but different circumstances have shaped them differently. That is why they react differently. They are the same but different that brings more life into their lives. They each colour their lives with their mutual love for music and comics. Park sees past everyone opinion of Eleanor. The simple bus ride to school and back brings them a deep friendship that blossoms into a young first love that deepens each day.

This book must be experienced. There is no way to explain all the feels I felt while reading this story. You just have to jump on this ride and feel the words. Let it melt to your bones and heart. Fall in love with Eleanor and Park. Let them tell you their story.

Rainbow Rowell is the type of writer who packs a punch in simple writing. It's a unique writing style that she delivers to us in a magical package. It's like you are Alice from Alice in the Wonderland, who falls into the rabbit hole of a whole new world, in her magical spell of her words.

When she's not writing, Rainbow is reading comic books, planning Disney World trips and arguing about things that don't really matter in the big scheme of things.

She lives in Nebraska with her husband and two sons.

Review

ARCHER'S VOICE by Mia Sheridan is BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL, unique, heart-stoppingly a gorgeous read. This book got me out of my book slump. From the first page I was drawn to the story and the characters and ARCHER especially, that man -sigh- is a gorgeous, sweet, intelligent and hermit type of guy. He stole my heart from me and I don't want it back!!!  -Sigh- I LOVE Archer! SO SO SO much!!!!!! MIIINNNEEE. ;)

You know you have found an amazing author when you have been sucked in from the first chapter and you haven't stopped reading from there. Any interruption you have you become a surly bear and anyone around you wished they never had bugged you in the first place. There are writing where you are slowly sucked in and you find it hard to adjust to a new author and there are other writers who you fall right into the pool of words - literally. And you can't or more likely don't want to stop drowning because it's too exquisite not to.

Archer's Voice is a book that I can't stop thinking about. Like really can't. No matter how many books I will read this book will always be a top favourite book each and every year. It won't matter that it's been published in 2014 and yes this book will be on my Best Reads of 2014. Yes, already. It's that good.

I honestly didn't know what this book was about besides it making a lot of noise in the book world. I was recommended this book by my friend and I already was in a book slump like I mentioned. I left books unfinished that I was reading because I wasn't getting into the book. It was driving me up the wall so when I got this book I jumped into and oh boy am I ever glad to read this. This book was meant for me right that minute, it couldn't have come at a better time.

I love Bree, she is a strong, independent and a wonderful person. She is beautiful inside and out. She comes to this small town in order to find some peace from her past that has her in its vise grip she wants to move on. And she finds that peace here. She finds love here. She finds her home here.

I didn't read any of Mia Sheridan's books before AV for me I just knew this is her best work ever.
