Into the Deep by Samantha Young

Synopsis

Live young. Live hard. Love deep.

Charley Redford was just an ordinary girl until Jake Caplin moved to her small town in Indiana and convinced her she was extraordinary. Almost from day one Jake pulled Charley into the deep and promised he was right there with her. But when a tragic incident darkened Jake’s life he waded out into the shallows and left Charley behind.

Almost four years later Charley thinks she’s moved on. That is until she takes a study year abroad in Edinburgh and bumps into none other than Jake Caplin at a party with his new girlfriend. The bad-boy-turned-good attempts to convince Charley to forgive him, and as her best friend starts spending time with Jake’s, Charley calls a truce, only to find herself tumbling back into a friendship with him.

As they grow closer, the spark between them flares and begins playing havoc with their lives and relationships. When jealousy and longing rear their destructive heads, Charley and Jake struggle to come to grips with what they mean to one another.

And even if they work it out, there is no guarantee Charley will ever trust Jake to lead her back into the deep…

Review

“… peace… that comes with feeling complete, and I haven’t felt that way since I was seventeen and I walked away from a girl who could make me laugh harder, feel harder, and burn harder than any other person in my world.”
This is far by the best second chance romance book I have ever read in such a long time. I love these type of books I always want dive into knowing there is will such "sweet" angst that will want me to pull my hair out. Now adding the ingredient of Samantha Young's writing in the mix creates such a beautiful, heart stopping, heart-melting dish of awefreakingtasicness for me to devour. I have been a hug fan of hers ever since I have read On Dublin Street (Hot, yummy Irish man! His accent! –Sigh- Makes this book addict very happy. LOL). Ever since I have gotten a taste of her unique writing style, her men and the heroines (that I want to be like!) creates such happiness within me that I jump from standing on earth to lying on cloud nine while reading, sighing happily and swooning. Once I have finished reading I am yearning for that high again for that angst and for more Jake (for Braden Freaking Carmichael)!!!

“All I know is that you probably deserve better than me, but I’m too selfish to let you. I’m into you, and I want you to be so into me, you don’t even care that I’m not good enough for you.”

You know when you find the book that takes away your senses and you are just devouring the book right to your soul. Buried so deep in side that it’s stitched there forever. The stitches are unbreakable. That was what this book did to me. I couldn’t tear my eyes away; I couldn’t order my hands away when I needed to get up to go to the next bus stop. I wanted to blow away my classes and just read.

“I knew after weeks of meeting you that I was never going to love another girl like I love you. You’re it for me. They write books about what we have.”

There are books when something major happens and a person runs away and until they don’t see the girl they never realized they were still in love or that they weren’t living until now. That type of story line I have read countless of times because I have read so many second time chances that I always see coming but this was unique, this one was original, this one claimed me. It was refreshing.

The heroine didn’t let the guy walk over and let him back so easily. Ms. Young showed the reader that they were both in so much pain. They were two halves of a soul that everyone knew they belonged together but there was SO much hurt in it. There was too much time spent hurting. They were so young but they knew it was not a fling it was more until they tried to tell themselves they imagined it until they saw each other again but the elephant in the room that was pulsing with so much hurt was rooted in the room between them that they have their work cut out for themselves. Not only the hurt is there but Jake’s girlfriend too. That is the giant elephant between them.

“I won’t ever stop loving you. No matter what.”

This gave so much more than I was expecting to go deep into their souls and see clearly through them, glimpse by glimpse by each word, sentence, chapter to the very last word I slowly made the puzzle but there pieces still left to figure out. I will know more than I know after I finished Out of the Shallows. (Which I am dying to read!!! It can’t come out any faster.)

There is this pull to this story that I seriously can’t give words to I just want to bottle this feeling and keep it forever.

It's...

Epic. Unforgettable. Heartbreaking. Awefreakingtasic.

AND.

Deep. So freaking deep.

“Do you promise to take care of me for the rest of forever, Jacob Caplin?”“I promise. For the rest of forever.”

I give Samantha Young a STANDING OVATION.

AND. I. WANT. OUT OF THE SHALLOWS NOW. LOL.

Cover Reveal: Catch Me by Claire Contreras

Synopsis

In the past, I always been given everything I've wanted, but nothing that I truly needed. I've experienced a lot of things in my twenty-five years, everything except the one thing I want. It's the one thing that can’t be bought. It can't even be taken, it has to be given. And nobody has ever given it to me, not really anyway.

Not until him.

Music is the center of both our lives, but as he found his place in it, I lost my way. He soared, while I spiraled down a destructive path.

I lost myself in more ways than I can count.

The ironic thing is that I didn’t realize how lost I was until he found me.

And now that he has, I have to wonder if he'll stay around long enough to catch me.

Release Date: Coming Soon

Teaser

He never takes his eyes off of me as he crosses the street. He walks around a group of people, purposely stepping to my side. There’s no time for formal hellos in the middle of the street, and I’m glad for that because I don’t want to introduce him to my brother and do the whole shebang in a crowded street. My smile is fixed on my face as he approaches, also smiling at me, his eyes crinkling in mischief. When he brushes past me, he takes my hand and squeezes it slightly. It’s just a squeeze. Just. But it’s enough to get my heart pumping, my blood tingling, and my eyes widening as if I’ve been caught doing something wrong, which I know is ridiculous, but that’s how his touch makes me feel.

Claire Contreras graduated with her BA in Psychology from Florida International University. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband, two little boys, and three dogs.

Her favorite past times are: daydreaming, writing, and reading.

She has been described as a random, sarcastic, crazy girl with no filter.

Life is short, and it’s more bitter than sweet, so she tries to smile as often as her face allows. She enjoys stories with happy endings, because life is full of way too many unhappy ones or ones that will scare the daylights out of her and have her looking over her shoulder at every turn. Like I said, she's very random.
