~Review~

First off I want to say that I enjoyed reading Misguided Heart. I really liked it. 

So getting off in the nitty gritty stuff. Ashton was no meek girl, she kicked ass and didn't let anyone come in her way when she worked so hard in achieving. Then she gets a wedding invitation of her first loves wedding with the girl she never really liked and everything she wanted crashed down on her. Made her feel that everyone is getting what she wanted. She wanted to settle down, get married and have kids but that didn't happen. 

When she first accepted the invitation she went there in the intention to show it doesn't effect her at all, than she saw the wedding she planned. Internal struggle starts. 

Coming to Solan, he is the hot, jerk and a big player. Never cared about anything, took what he wanted and moved on. He started to notice Ashton and than a whole lot. He decided than and there he wanted her and will not stop until after he gets what he has to have. 

They both have their own past demons to fight. Secrets that they kept hidden. Will Ashton goes back to her first love? Will Sloan get what he wants and leave her? Or will he find something he can't seem to let go?  

Overall I liked this story, I don't want to spoil much but I had to stop a few times in reading this because Ashton and Sloan got in my nerves a bit. They knew what they wanted but let everything else get entangle and get messy that you don't know what exactly you wanted. One thing I liked was when they messed up both of them hurt each other back, so it wasn't like there was one really hurt party. They both knew exactly where they are coming from. It is just that they didn't tell the truth and got hurt. Sloan was a little worser than her and Ashton need on really good shake. 

But than again, it is called Misguided. 

I did enjoy the book it's a standalone and has HEA. So I'm happy. ;) 

Want an enjoyable read with a flawed hot jerk and a messy badass girl than grab your copy.

3- Most of the characters a certain characteristic traits of people I know

4- The Ducati 848 Evo in the book, is my dream bike

5- The main character is named after my dream car, an Aston Martin

6- If I were to ever open a restaurant I would name it Sak Lunch, that's why I used that name in the book

7- This book was originally supposed to be a series but I decided on 1 book because I didn't want it to drag

8- The sex scenes in the book are mainly made up of my fantasies

9- I have always wanted to go to New York so that's why I put it in the book

10- I grew up in Arizona (lived there for 20 years)

11- Aston's wardrobe in the book is my dream wardrobe

Blog Stop: Running on Empty

Alex is a single mother of three beautiful little girls. When her girls lost their father, her youngest was just a baby than. After losing her husband Alex was broken, she lost the love of her life and thinking that their is no second chances in life she created little happiness along the way just for her girls. She made sure she did everything she can do to keep her daughters happy, fulfilled their hearts desires and kept herself happy tried so hard to hide her pain from them little did she know that they notice it. Her girls tried as much as they can to keep her happy in their own way. When she realizes that they know she tries VERY hard as much as she can to shield them from it. When she has time on her own she knows that she isn't really happy but only is trying for her daughters, who mean the world to her. 

“You go on, each day, as though you’re happy and at peace with your life. Or at least trying to convince yourself that you are. But you also go on, each day, not really living.”  

 Enter Blake her closest childhood friend he comes into her life again. He comes and things start changing and Alex doesn't like that obviously. He represent a form of help because when he comes is when she needs it. Desperately. She hates help. She hates asking for help or even taking what's offered. Blake being the very patient guy he is and knows her so well (even better than she knows herself) even after all the time they have been apart. So sees right through her. Right through the anger, right through her pushing him away. He shows her to be happy again make her feel things she didn't think she would feel again. She is cherished, taken care of after awhile for once someone is thinking of her and its not Hallow. 

“I feel safe. I feel protected. I feel relief. I feel scared. I feel vulnerable. I feel desire. I feel… Everything.”

The fear of heartbreak and potential loss from hurting her girls with the pain again she rationalizes that she is protecting them when a little part of her knows that she is protecting herself, she is scared so she fights her feelings for Blake. Fights it fiercely. 

This is a heartwarming story if second chances at love again. Will Alex keep fighting and lose the best thing that is happening to her again because of her fear or will she embrace it. Or will she be too late. 

"You’ll never have your happy ending unless you’re brave enough to open the book and start your story.”

Running on Empty is the journey of Alex who had lost everything and was only left with her girls, she lost the sparkle in her eyes, the joy of life and the love for living. It's a journey of finding herself once again. Second chance at that perfect life again. Read it and see for yourself if Alex is brave enough to open the book and start her story. Or not.  

~ My thoughts ~  

I really loved this story. Really much.  It was really well written for a debut. There were its intense moments, where I wanted to cry with Alex and when I wanted to shake her for stop being stupid. I love her daughters to bits. They are so CUTE. So loving and so naughty that was an ingradient Alex needed in her life. They kept her happy that way. While she revolved her life around her kids she stops caring about her own. Thankfully for Hallow, Alex was taken care of in a good way. She just need a spark to ignite in her life. Put it on fire and wake her up from zombie living of life.  It's a beautiful story. I finished it in one sitting. So go on, GET YOURS!  

My verdict?! 4.5 Heartwarming Stars.
